Starkotter was a succesful war chief ravaging Sweden and Denmark in the early 11th century. Because of his outrages he was doomed to live for three generations, the legend says. However, Starkotter atoned for his acts and was buried in the parish of Tuna, 15 kilometers west of Sundsvall. His grave is an often visited monument and can be seen close to the Highway E14 at Matfors. |
